General introduction of Pinghu

Pinghu is in the north east of Zhejiang province, adjacent to Shanghai and in the mid-part of mainland coastline in the Yangtze River Delta, the most dynamic economic region of China. Pinghu is reputed as the home of silk, land of fish and rice”, enjoying the fame of Golden Pinghu”. The land area and sea area of the Pinghu city are 537 square kilometers and 1086 square kilometes respectively. Its coastline is 27 kilometers and population is 500,000.As economic development, Pinghu has become favourable land for the investors from home and abroad.

The social life and the economy of Pinghu have gained unprecedented development since China took the policy of reforming and opening to the outside world. In 1988, Pinghu was approved as a coastal opening city by State Council. It has been successively listed on the top 100 counties in China as comprehensive economic strength in 1992 and then it was honored to be well off county in 1995. Statistic data offered by State Statistic Bureau in 2005 proves that the economic competitive strength lists 28 in China. What's more ,the trend is raising. Now the urbanization level is 52%.
